Luke Erickson is a freelance writer based out of Northern Virginia. A former sportswriter, Luke has written for several weekly and daily publications in Massachusetts and Oregon, including the Springfield Union-News, The Corvallis Gazette-Times, and Oregon Sports Monthly. Luke earned his bachelor's degree in Journalism and History from the University of Massachusetts and his master's degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. His master's thesis centered on sports marketing, and led him to a 10-year career in Internet marketing for major companies such as Gateway, Massachusetts Medical Society, and The Motley Fool

Luke is a lifelong baseball fan and has been a season-ticket holder to minor-league and independent-league baseball teams for the past six years. He attends more than 70 games per year, and always keeps score. Consequently, he's often mistaken for a scout, given his preference for seats directly behind home plate and occasionally -- when the person misses the wrinkles and gray hairs -- gets mistaken for the next night's pitcher.
